In honor of National Wetlands Month and to enjoy what is our back yard, Saturday May 14th from 12 am to 3 pm will the 2nd annual Orrville Community Wetlands Day (rain day Sun May 15th 2-5). Located behind the Boys and Girls club and across from McDonalds, there will be fun and activities for all ages.
Some activities that will be running the full celebration: Frog Jumping Contest (BYOF if possible), Duck Pond, Frog Relay Games, Bug Food, Craft and educational stations, Junior fishing derby (BYOP), and walking the trails. Fun for the whole family. Tentative scheduled activities will go as follows:
12noon- Welcome and Planting of a Wetlands Tree
12:30- Junior Fishing Derby
1:30- Frog Jumping Contest
2pm- Relay Games (Pass the Frog, Leap Frog Relay, Musical Lily pad, etc..)
3pm- End of celebration
Bring a frog, fishing pole, picnic and friend (or any combination you wish) and come have some fun. Crafts, games, prizes, give aways, & children’s activities. You name it, it is going to be happening at the wetlands. So come out and roast a marshmallow, play a game, have fun, enjoy.
